Wax Max scans baseball cards with your phone's camera and keeps the collection on the phone. This page is for when something does not work.

A card was read wrongly, or not at all

Scan the back of the card. The back carries the card number and the copyright line, and that is what the app identifies from — a front alone usually cannot be placed, and the scanner will say so if it sees one.

• Lay the cards flat on a table, backs up, in even light.
• Sweep slowly and hold the phone roughly 30–35 cm away. Further than that and cards are too small to detect at all.
• A card the app could not read is still kept. It appears in your collection unidentified, and you can scan it again at any time.

Your subscription

Subscriptions are yearly and are handled entirely by Apple.

• To cancel: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Wax Max → Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep what you have paid for until it runs out.
• Refunds are Apple's, not ours: reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Restoring on a new phone: open the app, tap About, then Restore purchase.
• Your collection stays readable whether or not you subscribe. A subscription is what lets it keep growing.

Deleting your account and data

In the app: About → Delete Account. That erases your account on this website — your collection here, your card photographs and every linked phone — and everything the service stores about your subscription. It does not cancel your subscription; Apple does that.

The cards on your phone are not touched by that — they are yours and they stay. To remove them too, use About → Clear Entire Inventory, or delete the app.

Your card pictures, and what we do with them

If you have linked your phone to this website, the app sends the best photograph of each card along with the card, so your collection here shows your own pictures. We keep them and use them to teach Wax Max to read cards better — that is the only thing they are used for. An unlinked phone sends nothing.

The diagnostic log and the scan recordings are a different matter: those are written to the device and are never uploaded. See the Privacy Policy for what is and is not sent, and the Terms of Use.
